Crosby’s Sweet Success

Lorne Goodman has been in the sticky business for 21 years. The Truro, N.S. native picked up his skills in marketing, plant and quality management in his 20 years at Canada Packers Inc., and transferred that knowledge to his job as GM of the 133 year old Crosby’s Molasses company, a post that involves, well, “doing whatever needs doing.”

Its deep-rooted history notwithstanding, Crosby’s is by no means resistant to change.  Last year, the company made some radical changes in their marketing/advertising/social media, and working with ad agency M5, brought a whole new face to the company, including the sweet face of “Grandma Fancy” in their double entendre laden “Bake It Like Grandma” campaign.  She makes me smile.  Check out her sticky buns:
